Fabricair là công ty đầu tiên trên thế giới phát minh ra công nghệ sử dụng chất liệu vải để làm ống gió vải sử dụng cho hệ thống điều hòa không khí vào năm 1973 tại Đan Mạch. Tại Việt Nam hay một số quốc gia khác còn sử dụng tên gọi là ống gió mềm. Trong tiếng Anh chúng ta có thể sử dụng Fabric duct hay là textile duct đều được.
Hiện tại Fabricair có khoảng 100 nhân viên, văn phòng công ty mẹ đặt tại Đan Mạch và 4 công ty con đặt tại Mỹ, Đức, Anh và Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ. Nhà máy sản xuất được đặt tại Lithuania, một nước cộng hòa thuộc Liên Xô cũ, việc đặt nhà máy tại Lithuania nhằm tận dụng nguồn nhân công có tay nghề cao tại quốc gia này, vì trong quá khứ đây là khu vực tập trung nhiều nhà máy sản xuất quân trang, quân dụng cho quân đội Liên Xô.
Tại thời điểm hiện tại, khoảng 80 đến 85% doanh số bán ống gió vải của Fabricair đến từ việc xuất khẩu qua các quốc gia khác. Sản phẩm ống gió vải Fabircair đang được bán tại 35 quốc gia trên toàn thế giới.
Từ năm 2005, Fabricair A/S được Mr. Brian Refsgaard mua lại và hiện tại ông đang giữ vai trò Giám Đốc Điều Hành của Fabricair. Công ty Fabricair dưới sự điều hành của ông đang có những bước phát triển rất mạnh mẽ, đặc biệt là trong lĩnh vực xuất khẩu.
Công trình đầu tiên sử dụng ống gió vải Fabricair là một nhà máy giết mổ gia cầm tại Đan Mạch vào năm 1973, đây là khởi đầu cho việc đưa một công nghệ mới vào làm ống cấp cho hệ thống điều hòa. Ngày nay ống gió vải đã trở nên rất phổ biến và được sử dụng làm ống cấp cho hệ thống điều hòa không khí trong các nhà xưởng, kho chứa, trung tâm thương mại, trung tâm thể thao,….
Trong thập niên 90, Fabricair bắt đầu áp dụng các tiêu chuẩn sản xuất theo ISO9001 và đã nhận được giấy chứng nhận đạt chuẩn ISO9001 vào năm 1995.
Ngay từ những ngày đầu thành lập, chiến lược của Fabricair là nhắm đến các thị trường xuất khẩu là chính, ngày nay 80 đến 85% doanh số đến từ xuất khẩu. Sản phẩm Fabricair đang được sử dụng tại rất nhiều quốc gia trên thế giới. Năm 1997 Fabricair quyết định thâm nhập thị trường Hoa Kỳ với việc thành lập công ty 100% vốn đầu tư của Fabricair, năm 2002 Fabricair mở văn phòng tại Anh. Các công ty con của Fabricair đang hoạt động rất hiệu quả và mang về phần nhiều doanh thu cho Fabricair.
Tháng 8 năm 2003, Fabricair quyết đinh di dời một phần nhà máy sản xuất đến Lithuania.
Vào thị trường Việt Nam từ năm 2012, đây là một thị trường hoàn toàn mới mẻ đối với sản phẩm ống gió vải. Công ty Công Nghệ PST đã cùng với hãng sản xuất Fabricair phát triển thị trường đầy tiềm năng này. Hiện nay Công ty Công Nghệ PST là nhà cung cấp ống gió vải Fabricair tại Việt Nam.
Thời gian đầu rất nhiều khó khăn trong giai đoạn phát triển và giới thiệu sản phẩm ống gió vải Fabricair đến các chủ đầu tư, đến các công ty thi công cơ điện. Tuy nhiên tới thời điểm hiện tại Fabricair đang dần chứng minh những ưu điểm của ống gió vải so với ống gió tôn và các công trình sử dụng ống gió vải ngày càng nhiều thêm, có thể kể đến: Nhà máy sản xuất linh kiện điện tử của Đức Pepperl& Fuchs, Dielac Vinamilk 2, Kho Dược phẩm May, nhà máy URC, nhà máy Vinacafe, nhà máy Mitsuba Nhật Bản, Hội chợ Vietbuild, nhà máy United Seafood, Galaxy trading Office,…
